The wet fish trawler „CAPE BALLARD“ from Halifax N.S., Canada has been sold and delivered to Danish buyers.
Delivery took place on the 17th of April 2013.
We have sold the reefer cargo vessel "Captain Mokeev"
The vessel is built in 1998 and is 6971 Gross Tonnage.

Alasund Shipbrokers sold Vardholm in June 2012. New owners reconverted Vardholm to a freezing trawler, after few years of service as seismic vessel. Freezing equipment was totally renewed as well as production deck and winches. Alasund Shipbrokers congratulate new owners with a successful project and wish them ongoing success and the best of luck.
In April this year we sold the Multi Purpose vessel KASPRYBA 2 to Korean buyers that have now converted the vessel to deep sea freezer long liner. The vessel has been re-named KOSTAR
The conversion took place in South Korea.

The stern trawler Vardholm has been sold to east Russia. Delivery will take place in week 22.

At the autumn meeting of the BIMCO Documentary Committee held in Copenhagen on 10 November the newly revised edition of the SALEFORM agreement for the sale and purchase of second-hand ships was approved for publication. The new edition will be called SALEFORM 2012 and will be published along with detailed explanatory notes this coming January. The revision of this widely used international agreement has been a year in the making. The final draft follows a series of industry consultations that took place in Oslo, London and Singapore in September and October which drew large numbers of participants and an equally large number of useful comments and suggestions. SALEFORM 2012 reflects what the industry has told BIMCO it wants in a new edition of the sale agreement. It is a modest revision, but one which incorporates many of the amendments commonly made to the form when used. As such it provides an up to date contract for the industry, bringing greater clarity to those provisions in the 1993 edition which occasionally led to uncertainty. BIMCO is confident that the industry will warmly welcome SALEFORM 2012 as a much improved version of this tried and tested international sales agreement. (Source: Bimco)
The shrimp freezer factory trawler "BORGIN" has been sold. The vessel is to be classed in Iceland and expected to return to fishing by middle of January 2012. We wish the new owners and crew the very best of luck with the vessel. She is to be renamed "ÁSBJÁ–RN" ÁS-304 (Polar Bear).
Thorarinn Gudbergsson, CEO of Alasund, celebrated his birthday on November 3rd. As a birthday present staff members and the companies advertising agency made him a pink 65m Freezer trawler. Thorarinn seemed quite happy with it;)
On the 27th of October the new Icelandic Coast Guard vessel, THOR arrived in her home port in Reykjavik.
The vessel was built in Chile.

The mfv "ÁžÁ“RUNN SVEINSDÁ“TTIR" VE-401 arrived to her homeport on the 24th of December 2010 after newbuilding of the vessel was completed at Karstensens Skibsværft, Skagen, Denmark.
